Congratulations to everyone who surfed in the KZN Jnr Trials this past weekend! The trials took place on Saturday and Sunday at Bronze Beach in Umhlanga. We tried to have Sunday’s trial at Dairy, but there were no waves so had to return to Bronze beach.

 

Thanks so much to  Charles, Anne, Carol, Victor, Judges - Mark Maritz, Dave Dalton, Dusty, Tim, Joe and Cruize for their hard work. Thanks also goes to the Dads who helped out – Andy Hogg and Eric England – we really appreciate all you did to help. Thanks to the lifeguards at Bronze beach – Paul and his team who were so hospitable, and Ant for organizing the venue.

 
 Please can you all check the results and scores and please let me know if you see any problems.   The A and the B Teams will be formally announced as soon as the committee have met and discussed the results. Photos will be loaded on the site later in the week.

 

The bad news: In future at KZNSA sanctioned vents – we will be imposing a R50 fine for any surfer standing after the siren of their heat, or removing their rash vest before returning to the beach marshal. We need to teach the kids the rules early as the fines get hectic when they get older, and there are a few kids (including mine!) who are ignoring these rules….

 

In SSA and ASP sanctioned events there is also a R250  fine for surfers who don’t show. i.e. they say they are coming and don’t arrive. There were a number of surfers that we were expecting this weekend that did not show. This causes unnecessary delays in the days proceedings. In future we will also be imposing a R50 for kids that don’t show.
