I lived and worked in Durban from 1982 to 1985 and during that time I was friendly with a local guy who was surfing mad, we also worked together at the oil refinery on the bluff for a company called Rotork.

About 1984 he stopped working and I beleive he started working in a surf shop as he couldn’t keep away from the water. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name but he should have a large scar on his shoulder from a wipe out he had one day when he went absent from work, he claimed to the company he did it when he fell off his bike on the plant. I am visiting Durban this year and it would be great to meet up for a beer or two. Hope you can help.
