BILT SURFBOARDS UPDATE Print
Bilt Surfers Score Some Great Results

Durban - Team Bilt South Africa have been on a roll lately, clocking up some good results and getting ready to compete in the international arena. Beyrick De Vries and Sarah Baum were two Bilt surfers who achieved great victories when they both won their respective boys and girls' titles in the premier U16-and-under division of the South African finals of the 2008 Rip Curl Gromsearch series.

It all went down at the final event of the series which was run off recently in good waves at the right-hand pointbreak wave of Southbroom on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast, with both Baum and De Vries putting on excellent performances to take their titles. They will both be flying over to Australia next Easter to compete in the International Finals of the Rip Curl Gromsearch, with Red Bull providing their air tickets.

Both Baum and De Vries have been turning heads in South Africa with their recent bursts of form riding Bilt Surfboards. They are both simply winning everything in sight and are hunting bigger victories on an international level.

In the meantime, top Bilt surfer Davey Weare from Durban North is winging over to Hawaii, where he will cement his place on the 2009 World Tour shortly. Davey is well-placed on the World Qualifying Series to secure his slot on the tour for next year, and one more good result will see him safe. Davey will be taking over a Bilt epoxy board that he has been experimenting with and is extremely excited about. "The board goes unreal, definitely one of my best boards," said Davey. "It is coming with me to Hawaii for sure." For video proof of Davey ripping on the epoxy check out the clip on the Zigzag website
