KZNCSA Splab 2

Another week has gone by and yes we have had some awesome surf especially if you were up the coast or down the coast from Durban including the “BLUFF”. Some barrels and mud prawn suction were order of the day at various locations From “Surf City” to Kelso and north to even Tinley manor nogal (Afrikaans). Town was once again its consistent 2ft -3ft and all the groms were busting it at Bay, Newpier and North beach.  Then there was Josh Smit who went down to the grom search contest in Slaapstad and absolutely caned the crew down there to walk off with the spoils(how’s a loan Bru). Well done mate left a few National Team riders with something to think about. Mmm wonder if you got your heart and mind set on wearing the Green and Gold in the future.  Nice to have the RIP Curl Grom Search back on the calendar. Also on this weekend is the Lizzard Tag event down South so guys please support it.

Girls and Betties big one, is on the way for you girls with the Roxy event just round the corner. Lots of dosh up for grabs in this one, hope you have been working hard at your contest game. Yes it’s at New Pier so guys lets show a little respect and let the Betties have an awesome contest at Surf City’s premier break. If it pumps don’t swerve off to south beach, make the most of it. Spare a thought for our own Carol and the Roxy crew who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get this contest going. I will definitely be watching to see who stands out.

Well we have Trial 4 sneaking up on us as well and I am pleased to be informed that the entries have been coming in steadily. The trial will be on Youth Day and with youall being youth we feel it quite fitting for the occasion to celebrate this day with surfing. Big up to the City for further improvements to our beach front we are now starting to look like Surf City. Oh and Matt and I won’t forget the young Sills and Wallace crew who hijacked our electric skate boards and tore up and down from Marine to Ushaka depleting our batteries on Saturday. I had go manual for the last 200m was tired out when I got back to Durban Surf. Sorry Alan and Will if you are getting electric skate board requests for future birthday etc. Guilty as charged, that crew only knows one speed “FULL SPEED” Need to find out what their pocket money allowance is maybe Matt and I could go into business motorised skate board rental. PS rumour has it that there are two units left at R2500.00 ea. But be careful as Matt is a bit of a wheeler and dealer(trained in Grey street). Forecast of swell from Thursday onwards to the weekend is looking good however wet suits are going to be the order of the day with the frontal system that is going to sweep into KZN this week.

Look forward to seeing you in the water.
